The UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre implements the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) strategy in Poland and supports its global initiatives, by being involved in the dissemination of the Sustainable Development Goals, in their environmental dimension in particular.

In September 2015, during the Sustainable Development Summit (New York), 193 member states of the United Nations adopted a resolution entitled "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development". This document has set 17 global goals (SDGs). Their implementation is oriented towards creating a sustainable future and reduction of poverty in the world.

ENVIRONMENTAL DIMENSIONS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Although only two of the seventeen goals are entirely devoted to the natural environment (i.e. SDG 14. Life under water and SDG 15. Life on land), in fact each of the goals has its environmental context, and more than half of them directly refer to the current environmental issues.

We encourage you to discover the environmental dimensions of the Sustainable Development Goals.
