SDGs Partnership  Tarnowskie Góry will flourish in the early autumn thanks to projects prepared by young people - participants of the "Young Nature Observers - we create a city with climate!" project by Veolia Polska Foundation and UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre.  GRID  Together with European partners, we prepare educational materials inspiring young people to discuss the topic of circular economy in the city. It is a part of the "Urban Science - Integrated Learning for Smart Cities" project. By explaining various topics and showing the relationships between them, in educational modules we provide young people with a systemic approach. In cooperation with experienced teachers, we show the city as one complex ecosystem, which is influenced by many different elements. Get more »
 SDGs Partnership  The French-Polish Chamber of Commerce has published the findings of the 4th edition of the "CSR in practice" report, which monitors business responsibility for people and the environment. The UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre is the partner of the report. Get more »
 SDGs Partnership  On July 2, 2019, at the BASF Polska headquarters, the ceremony closing the Agro-Ambassadors program  3rd edition and the Good Agricultural Practices competition was held. The ceremony was attended by dr Monika Szewczyk, an expert on biodiversity at the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre, and a member of the jury at the Good Agricultural Practices competition. Get more »

 In the press  Events in June, that were aimed at raising public awareness of the negative effects of air pollution, have met with considerable media interest, hence it became possible to reach wider audience and share the message about the challenges in construction and buildings, transport or the energy system.  SDGs Partnership  Just like last year, this year's celebration of the World Environment Day also involved green ribbons symbolizing readiness to take urgent actions for the planet and for our common good. On June 5, throughout Poland, the Green Ribbon campaign involved cities, institutions and individuals. On the streets of Warsaw, animators encouraged passers-by to take online ECO-commitments.  GRID  The team of educators from the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre participated in an event organised by ERGO Hestia for its employees. The aim of this Open Day was to promote the idea and sharing knowledge about sustainable development.The event was organised on June 27 in the Gdańsk headquarters of the company and ran under the slogan "Be ECO-logical".  SDGs Partnership  For the last two weeks we have been experiencing unprecedented heat wave in Poland, and across Europe. Many cities are struggling with a water shortage, and the consumption of electricity has risen sharply. At the same time, the most famous tree in Warsaw – a palm tree at the de Gaulle roundabout in the city Centre – withers. It is true that the palm is artificial, but that is why it could be safely 'dried' in order to inspire us to think about climate change. This awareness action commenced at the beginning of June is foregoing this year's World Environment Day celebrations. Get more »
